Dr. Joseph T. Bonviel is a Senior Research Engineer for the Physical Sciences department at United Technologies Research Center (UTRC), a research and development division of United Technologies Corporation (UTC).  He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees of science in Mechanical Engineering and Biomechanical Engineering from University of South Carolina. He also holds a master's degree in mechanical from Carnegie Mellon University and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of South Florida in research conjunction with Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Bonivel is a trained tribologist with most of his research based primarily on material characterization and tribology process modeling and optimization. “Without the mentors who motivated me during the pitfalls of my engineering career and celebrated my successes, I would not have become the man I am today.” 

 

​Joe's role is to establish partnerships with Corporate Sponsors to increase STEM workforce involvement in youth mentoring as well as secure funds for continued operations.
